A fast and easy dip inspired by the celebration of Cinco de Mayo flavours
Nobody makes a hummus like this…with taco seasoning and without the plastic tub. The seasoning sounds kinda out there until you dip a chip. I had to use a stick blender (not the best tool for the job) and it was still fast to make. Devoured it as a snack, but I can also see it served as a dip served at a celebration…like the one that happens every year on this day!

Nacho Hummus Dip (6-Ingredients)
Chickpeas – 1 can (398 ml / 14 oz)
Salsa – ½ cup
Extra Virgin Olive Oil – ¼ cup
Garlic – 1 clove (small)
Taco Seasoning – 1 teaspoon
Red Pepper Flakes – pinch or two
Drain and rinse chickpeas. Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth. Serve with tortillas chips.
THREE MOVES TO KNOW
1. You don’t want a big piece of garlic
A small clove will keep the garlic from being too strong. Or use a ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder if you want to skip the chop.
2. The DIY taco seasoning works amazing
Tried the store bought stuff. Regretted it. The flavour isn’t bad, just not a lot of charm. The D.I.Y seasoning gives the hummus more identity.
3. Keep extra canned chickpeas from going to waste
If you have a larger can of chickpeas (540 ml /19 oz) store the extras is some liquid from the can. It will help keep the chickpeas from spoiling in the fridge. This way, you have them for when a nacho hummus craving strikes!
Dip a chip and let me know if you’d give this hummus a thumbs up for taste…and skipping the plastic waste!
