Recipe: D.I.Y Homemade Taco Seasoing (EP#60)
Cooking Zone: 5 Prepare → Make ahead of time so you have for Taco Tuesday

Ingredients – Approximate Cost [$0.39]
Spices
- 1 tablespoon chili powder – $0.16
- ½ tablespoon cumin – $0.09
- 1 teaspoon paprika – $0.04
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder – $0.01
- ¼ teaspoon oregano – $0.01
- ½ teaspoon salt – $0.01
- ¼ teaspoon pepper – $0.01
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch – $0.07
Steps
- Combine all ingredients in a jar. Shake well. Label and store with spices.
Recipe Notes:

- No Onion → Typically homemade taco seasoning will add dried onion, or onion salt. I always add onion to the taco filling so I omit it in the seasoning.
- 1 Tablespoon → How much I use for a ½ pound of taco filling. For a stronger flavour add two.
- Savings? → Seasoning Packet: $2.29. Homemade: $0.39. Savings: $1.90
- Would I Cook It Again? → Yep! I love how you can control the amount of salt and adjust the spices to tailor the taste.
